My name is Bora Aydin, and I am a Graduate Electronics Engineer at AVIRE. I graduated with First Class Honours in MEng Engineering Science from the University of Oxford, specialising in Information and Electrical Engineering, with a strong focus on control engineering and machine learning. Coding has always been a passion of mine, and during a summer placement at MathWorks, I contributed to developing MATLAB’s Deep Learning toolbox.

I joined the AVIRE team on 14 October 2024, motivated by the technical learning opportunities in an R&D setting. The chance to work on software and write code for engineering applications, while advancing my skills in embedded computing, C programming, and electrical/electronic systems, drew me to the company. What excites me most about my job is tackling a diverse range of challenges and seeing the quick impact of my work.

So far, I have primarily worked on the Area of Refuge product. My work has included implementing feature updates for the firmware, improving automated testing procedures, and performing electrical calculations. Each task offers an opportunity to refine my expertise and contribute to AVIRE’s innovative solutions.
