Avire is seeking a test technician to join our small, high impact engineering team. You will be supporting the development of emergency communication products that keep millions of people around the world safe, every single day. Working in a highly collaborative international environment, you will work under the direction of our Test Engineer in North America and closely with our UK and Barcelona-based R&D teams.
We are at the forefront of development of emergency communications systems and other safety-of-life products for the building services industry, with a particular focus on high-rise buildings. Your work will be critical to ensuring that building occupants, particularly less mobile occupants, and those with disabilities, are protected and able to communicate in the event of emergencies such as high-rise building fires.
You will play a key role in ensuring our products work first time, every time. We will offer you an environment that gives you the opportunity to hone your engineering skills and become a deep technical expert in both our products and the ecosystems into which they are being installed.
What you will do:
- Developing and executing test cases across a range of emergency communications hardware and software products, including communications gateways and web-based software.
- Developing automated test infrastructure for the functional and performance testing of both hardware and software.
- Performing post-test data analysis and reporting.
- Validating the interoperability of devices and services within the product ecosystem.
- Creating test reports and documentation to assist with the investigation and resolution of issues.
- Supporting the R&D teams (based in the UK & Spain) with the integration and test of products into the US market.
- Assisting the technical support and field support teams to debug customer issues.
We want someone who displays:
- Action-Oriented Curiosity: You readily take on challenges, and you identify and seize new opportunities. You have an outstanding history of delivering on your projects. You work on the problems that truly need solving, and you effectively challenge the organization to be better. You can cut through the clutter and focus on the priorities that align with organizational objectives.
- Collaboration: You embrace the unique experiences, viewpoints, and abilities of your teammates and proactively engage those differences to come to the best possible outcome. Creating an effective sales team is incredibly motivating to you, and you put your employees first recognizing that you succeed only when they succeed.
- Empowerment: You thrive in an environment where you can make decisions. You do not shy away from taking a stand, and you recognize the importance of challenging the team to ensure that we strive for more. You also empower your employees to make decisions giving them the tools to do so successfully.
- Accountability: You take responsibility for your actions, and you deliver on your commitments. You hold the members of your team to high standards while ensuring they have the support that they need to reach those lofty goals.
- Inclusion: In all aspects of your work, you treat everyone with respect.
