My name is Alexander Wilkins, but most people call me Alex. I am an Electronic Engineer at AVIRE. I studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Newcastle University, graduating with honours in the summer of 2021. During my studies, I completed a placement year in the automotive industry, gaining valuable experience in testing and developing steering motors. After university, I worked on designing custom EV powertrains, which further honed my expertise in circuit and PCB design.

I joined AVIRE in February 2022 as a Graduate Electronic Engineer and have since advanced to my current role. I was attracted to AVIRE by the opportunity to work across various disciplines, including circuit/PCB design and programming, and the appeal of small, collaborative teams where I could provide significant input and enjoy entrepreneurial freedom.

What excites me most about my job is the continuous learning and problem-solving. I thrive on tackling new challenges and find great satisfaction in solving complex issues. At AVIRE, I have primarily focused on the SmartView 2 project, involving product development as well as designing and building test rigs, automated tests, and demonstration setups. The high standards and customer satisfaction associated with AVIRE's products give me confidence in my contributions, making every day a rewarding experience.
